Estimates indicate nearly 80% of jobs will require technology skills in the next decade. But a digital divide exists between those with technology access and those without. We refuse to allow socioeconomic borders to inhibit our students from learning.
Understanding how to properly use technology is crucial in today’s fast-paced, knowledge-based economy. That’s why Austin Achieve provides students with technology-centric programming. Through our commitment to the development of play, passion and purpose, students not only learn how to “work” a computer, they learn how to make a computer work for them.
Every classroom is equipped with tablets for daily use. In our technology classes, digital tools act as the vehicles for knowledge and experimentation. Students tap into their creativity by designing video games and computer programs, and by learning the fundamentals of coding, tinkering and technology infrastructure.
Austin Achieve is proud to be part of the Windsor Park Neighborhood. Our community adds vibrancy to The City of Austin, and is home to many leaders in business, education and social services. To ensure we meet the needs of the entire community, we work with a variety of partners – like the Austin Film Society and Central Texas Bee Rescue – to unite school and families. We host Family Literacy Nights, maintain a Parent Teacher Organization and offer regular Open Houses for new and aspiring families.
Our sights are set on expanding our family based programming, including computer training, literacy, ESL and life-skills classes for students and adults alike. We aim to be integral to the community as friend, partner and educator.
We teach and develop the whole child, placing emphasis on a student’s overall well-being – educationally, socially and physically.
Sports and extracurricular activities are open to all Austin Achieve students. After-school programs include yoga, beekeeping, science, and boy and girl empowerment groups.
