While riding in the bus, all Austin Achieve scholars must:

• Remain seated in their assigned seat
• Keep all body parts outside of the aisle, inside the bus (i.e. no hands out the window), and away from others
• Follow all of the bus driver's directions
• Keep all sharp objects (i.e. pencils, pens, scissors, etc.) and food inside backpack
• Use appropriate volume while speaking.

Our Transportation Department has enacted these rules to keep all scholars safe while riding the bus. Scholar misconduct while riding in a school vehicle will be dealt with in accordance with the Scholar Code of Conduct and the Bus Discipline Policy. 

All students and staff members must wear face coverings when riding the bus as distancing measures cannot be adequately maintained.

Due to space restrictions and ridership capacities, students will likely not be able to social distance while riding the bus. When possible, parents are encouraged to take their children to school or carpool to reduce possible virus exposure on the bus.

All buses will be cleaned between routes, focusing on high-touch surfaces such as seats, door handles, steering wheels, etc. During cleaning, and when possible during transport, windows will be open to allow for additional ventilation and air flow. If a positive case has been identified on a bus, it will be replaced by another bus while being deep cleaned and disinfected.

Parents should arrive at their scholar's bus stop at least ten minutes before the scheduled stop time. Scholars should be outside at the bus stop at the time the bus arrives. If they are still getting out of their car when the bus arrives, they may miss the bus.

The bus will leave one minute after the scheduled time and will not stop for late scholars.

Parents will receive a text message alert if their scholar's bus is running late to their stop in the morning or afternoon. If your scholar's bus has not arrived within ten minutes of the scheduled stop time and you have not yet received communication from our transportation team, please call our front office at (512) 522-4190.

Who should I call if my scholar's bus does not arrive on time?

If your scholar's bus does not arrive within five minutes of the designated start time, you can call your school's front office at (512) 522-4190.

How will I be notified of any changes to my scholar's bus route?

If your scholar's bus route needs to be modified, you will be notified via text and a new bus schedule will be posted across the Austin Achieve website.

How will I be notified if my scholar's bus will be running late today?

If your scholar's bus is running late, you will be notified via text message.
