Austin Achieve is proud to sponsor an AmeriCorps program at our Northeast Elementary and Manor Middle School campuses. This school year, 20 AmeriCorps members are joining the Austin Achieve team to provide reading intervention to elementary and middle school scholars who are reading below grade-level proficiency. AmeriCorps members are trained in research-based curricula, Leveled Literacy Intervention and SIPPS, and work one-on-one and in small groups with scholars to help them meet their reading goals for the school year. During the 2021-22 school year, 48% of scholars grew over one year in reading proficiency in just 8 months!
Members who serve for 1 or 2 years at Austin Achieve earn a living allowance during the school year and are eligible for education award at the conclusion of their service term.
